China Creek Vancouver

One of Canada's oldest skateparks located in Vancouver, It should be demolished soon, but maybe it can be kept as heritage property :P Makes a great subject though. Located near Broadway sky train. Click [here] for a full screen QTVR or Click the photo for a larger image.

Peleng 8mm lens test with Enblend

Full screen QTVR is made from 6 images without zenith and nadir, Ptgui, enblend, peleng and panosaurus. Funny I have lived next to this temple but never drive 49th, always 25 or 41st when cutting accross town [ google map ]

Peleng 8mm Test

My Peleng just arrived from http://www.kievcamera.com a tad slow but after a month of no delivery i was getting worried, a simple mistake so phew. This full screen qtvr is a 6 shot portrait with no zenith or nadir shot. Rain test with umbrella wipped out of the way at shutter firing seemed to work OK. Stitched Panotools PTgui, Peleng, Panosaurus head and Nikon D70, too bad i dont have a pentax or my workflow would have 4 P products names :P Resized to 800k so medium ish resolution.
As usual click the photo to launch QTVR.

More Amazing B&W Photos

My friend at seevirtual also shoots B&W Traditional Film. Click the photo to enter a beautiful gallery . When will a printer be able to duplicate B&W Papers? With the death of film cameras now a reality what will the next generation shoot with or print with? Nothing on the market that has been able to duplicate the magic of a great Black and White print from film. Hmm maybe I will go find a classic F in mint as well as the F3 and freeze a bunch of film and chemicals :P Just in case.

Black and White Mike .com

http://www.blackandwhitemike.com is a new'ish site me and mike whipped together over a coulpe of nights. His work is a constant inspiration, but also makes me want to grab a roll of B&W Film and go shoot! *(although I have noticed he has been lazy in posting as of late) With the new announcement by Nikon of the demise of the film camera line (except the F6 for a limited time) I had better go pick up a cheap F3 HP and an MD4 before the used market takes a big leap for the next few years.

*Real B&W Film not my Digital.

Dog Park Vancouver

Awesome dog park, going to shoot the same vantage with new lens tomorrow. Full screen cubic view consisting of 38 images. Am going to duplicate scene with 6 shots from new lens. As always click the photo to launch full screen QTVR movie.

Deer Love Bananas

Self portrait with my buddy steve. He was a wild deer that hung around in the mornings to mooch an apple. If i was eating a Banana he would have a hissy fit, He would let me pat him on the head for Half. Click photo for full screen VR of the Haida Gwaii.

Equirectangular to cubic converter

Tried the new ( Free ) program named Pano2QTVR gui to convert an Equirectangular to 6 cubic images. This is very handy for capping tripod or adding logos to full cubic panoramas. Click the photo to open a full screen panorama sample.

Funny photo booth

New Flash 8 video technology used to play this funny video from the tonight show. Click the photo to start the video. Cant wait till flash displays cubic pans!

St. Regis Hotel

$119 for a cool 1 Bedroom Suite in Downtown Vancouver! ( really downtown not a 1/2 hour cab ride). Next time the folks come to visit I will send them the link. I just photographed the virtual tour for the hotel today and am very impressed with this affordable 2 1/2 star Hotel (easy on the pocket book) Click the photo to visit the St. Regis Hotel Site.
